Types of Positions

Dental Technician

At O’Brien Dental Lab, we offer a career path in the exciting field of dental health, without the burden of student loan debt. No previous experience is necessary in our earn as you learn environment. The successful O’Brien dental technician is committed to meeting assigned production output numbers, reliably produces superior quality work, and continually strives for excellence in their craft. Operations Support

Our pledge to excellence in customer service is what sets us apart from our competitors. O’Brien support staff members are part of a well-oiled clerical team dedicated to ensuring excellence in customer care. Proficient in web support, shipping, billing, and production scheduling they have the expertise to meet the needs of our customers while sustaining the smooth, day-to-day operations of company business. Join our outstanding team of support staff.

Delivery Driver

O’Brien Customer Service Route Representatives are the face of our company and we always strive to put our best face forward. Not just a delivery driver, O’Brien Reps are friendly, attentive, customer centric individuals who go all out to consistently deliver exceptional customer service. Openings

Removable Technician

Primary Function:

Start to finish processing of full & partial dentures, repairs, and relines.

 

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

2 years verifiable removable experience required

 

Personal Qualities:

  • Adaptable – open to new techniques, and meeting work challenges & scheduling demands with a can-do approach

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a climate controlled, production lab environment, mostly sitting at a workbench.
  • Minimal walking and some reaching above shoulder is necessary.

 

Shift:  

  • Full-time: Monday – Friday
  • Shift starts 7am – typical work week will be approximately 40 hours

Model Production Technician

Primary Function:

Perform the production steps required to create a precise replica of the dental patient’s teeth and surrounding tissue.

 

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Higher than average manual dexterity, hand/eye coordination, and fine motor skills

 

Personal Qualities:

  • Productive, with a focus on personal performance and production output
  • Adaptable, able to meet work challenges and scheduling demands with a can-do mindset
  • Team player, with a how-can-I-help approach
  • Independent, able to work with little direct supervision

 

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed indoors, in a climate-controlled environment and will require the use of a wide variety of tools and equipment.
  • Equipment noise, plaster dust, and wet materials are part of the workspace.
  • A combination of standing, walking and sitting are necessary to perform job tasks
  • Occasional reaching above the shoulder and lifting/carrying of items weighing 25lbs or less.

 

Shift:

  • Full-time: Monday – Friday
  • Shift starts at 1pm and ends when the day’s work is completed

 

Wage & Benefits:

  • Initial training wage is $13.50/hr. Wage increases to $14.00 after completion of initial training (4 – 8 weeks)
  • Employer subsidized medical, dental, life, and Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)

  • Voluntary individual coverage (accident, critical illness, short-term disability)

Crown & Bridge Technician

Primary Function:

Perform assigned production steps required in manufacturing dental prosthetics

 

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Higher than average manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills
  • Ability to discern slight variations in color

 

Personal Qualities:

  • Team player, exhibiting a can-do approach to the work assignment
  • Reliable, demonstrated through punctuality and attendance
  • Flexible, willing to meet occasional overtime demands and temporary schedule changes

 

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment, some noise.
  • Job duties can generally be accomplished from either a sitting or standing position
  • Some walking, occasional bending, continuous use of hand/wrists
  • Work may require use of motorized tools, high heat ovens, open flame, precision welders

 

Shift:  

  • Full time: Monday – Friday
  • Shift starts at 8am

 

Wage & Benefits:

  • Initial training wage is $13.50/hr. Wage increases to $14.00 after completion of initial training (4 – 8 weeks)
