Types of Positions

Dental Technician

At O’Brien Dental Lab, we offer a career path in the exciting field of dental health, without the burden of student loan debt. Customer Service

Delivery Driver

O’Brien Customer Service Route Representatives are the face of our company and we always strive to put our best face forward. Not just a delivery driver, the O’Brien Rep moves product to and from dental offices on an assigned route, while delivering exceptional customer service, before, during and after the customer’s basic requirements are met. Reps are friendly, attentive, and excellent communicators. Administrative

The primary function of administrative staff is to make sure the company runs smoothly and efficiently, day in and day out.  The O’Brien administrative staff member works behind the scenes.  They are the foundation, tasked with supporting those staff members who are involved in our company’s main business of manufacturing dental prosthetics. Positions include, shipping/receiving, production scheduling, accounts payable/receivable, and general clerical support.  Become a member of our awesome administrative support team.

Openings

Removable Technician

Primary Job Duties:
The primary function of a Removable Technician is to carry out all steps necessary in crafting quality, custom dentures, partials, and flippers.

Every technician must demonstrate a commitment to precision craftsmanship and a desire to provide each patient with a product that ensures proper function, fit, and aesthetics.

The successful O’Brien Removable Tech will be reliable, flexible, team oriented, and will exhibit the drive to strive for excellence each and every day.

Requirements:

Must be able to meet the following physical demands of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation: stand for extended periods of time with some walking throughout the workday, some reaching above shoulder, and may occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

  • Must demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills, consistently completing all assigned tasks by deadline.
  • Must follow instructions and production protocols exactly.
  • Must be flexible, able to meet overtime demands with little or no notice.
  • Must be dependable, consistently reporting to work on time and as scheduled.

Workspace:
Work is performed indoors, in a climate-controlled environment, primarily from a standing position. Equipment/tools used include loops, sandblaster, hand piece, lathe, laser welder, butane torch, steamer, and boil out tanks.

Employment Details:
Shift: 35+ hours per week / Mon-Fri /start time 5:30 am /shift ends when work is completed.
Starting Wage: $13.50/hr. (increasing to $14.00 upon completion of initial training process).

Invoicing Clerk

Primary Job Duties:
The primary function of the Invoicing Clerk is to ensure the accurate and timely processing of customer invoices.  Promote on-time delivery of finished product.

Additional office and customer service duties, and preparing outgoing work for shipping, are also a part of this job.

Applicants must possess the following qualities:

The successful O’Brien Invoicing Clerk will be reliable, flexible, customer service oriented, and will demonstrate the drive to perform better today than yesterday.

Requirements:

  • Minimum one-year previous office/customer service experience preferred.
  • Operational knowledge of computers and Microsoft programs (excel, word, outlook).
  • Must be able to meet the following physical demands of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation: stand for extended periods of time with some walking throughout the workday, may occasionally lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Must demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills, consistently completing all assigned tasks by deadline.
  • Must be flexible, able to meet overtime demands with little or no notice.

Workspace:
Primarily use computer and printer to process work tickets
Other general office equipment (phone, fax, copier, scanner)

Employment Details:
Shift: 35+ hours per week / Mon-Fri /start time 10:00am /shift ends when work is completed.
Starting Wage: $13.50/hr. (increasing to $14.00 upon completion of initial training process).

Model Production Technician

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Model Production Technician is responsible for:  Performing the production steps required to create a precise replica of the dental patient’s teeth and surrounding tissue.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Higher than average manual dexterity, hand/eye coordination and small motor skills

 

APPLICANTS MUST POSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES:

COMPETENCIES (to be trained on-the-job):

  • Basic knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
  • Basic knowledge of product lines and production schedules
  • Able to safely operate all equipment used to perform job function
  • Thorough knowledge of company safety, confidentiality, and HIPAA policies
  • Thorough knowledge of ISO Quality Policy Statement, Quality Policy Objectives, and location of department flowcharts

 

JOB GROWTH:

Level 1 (entry level training)

  • Pour working models
  • Pour opposing models and solids
  • Pour QC & Margin dies
  • Pour soft tissue models
  • Wax out crowns in impressions
  • Bulk trim dies
  • Grind models / dies

 

Level 2 (must be proficient in all Level 1 requirements)

  • Plaster, pindex and base models
  • Cut, bulk trim, and articulate the more straightforward articulations
  • Work with epoxy
  • Effectively prioritize work

 

Level 3 (must be proficient in all Level 2 requirements)

  • Set bites using semi-adjustable articulators
  • Mount a face bow
  • Index partials
  • Wax out, pour, and remove partials from impressions
  • Cut & separate veneer models
  • Process implant model work
  • Articulate the more difficult / multi-unit cases
  • Trim dies
  • QC

 

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

Shift: Monday-Friday / Shift starts at 1pm and ends when work is completed

  • Work is performed indoors, in a climate-controlled environment
  • Plaster dust, wet work, and equipment and vacuum noise are part of the work space
  • Majority of the work day is a combination of standing, walking and sitting.
  • Occasional reaching above shoulder and lifting/carrying of items weighing 25 lbs. or less

Equipment used to perform job duties may include stand mixer, vibration plates, belt grinder, disc grinder, small lathe, router, electric hand piece, auto batcher, pindex machine, and small hand tools.

Starting Wage: $13.50/hr. (increasing to $14.00 upon completion of introductory assignment)
